LAC Co-lead adds new role


Cynthia Bienemy, PhD, RN, director of the Louisiana State Board of Nursing – Center for Nursing, was installed as president of the National Forum of State Nursing Work­force Centers immediately following the Annual Confer­ence in Denver, Colorado, June 6-9, 2017.

The National Forum of State Nursing Workforce Centers was established in 2004 and is an organization comprised of more than 36 state nursing workforce centers focusing on addressing nursing workforce issues at the state level. The Forum contributes to the national effort to assure an adequate supply of qualified nurses to meet the health needs of the U.S. population. The Forum supports the advancement of new as well as existing nurse workforce initiatives and members share best practices in nursing workforce research, workforce planning, workforce development, and formulation of workforce policy.

Bienemy is the first African-American President of the National Forum of State Nursing Workforce Centers.
